Requirements

• Active RN license
• Degree from an accredited nursing program
• BLS certification
• At least 18 months of recent experience in an acute care Med/Surg setting
• Additional requirements as determined by the client facility

Duties & Responsibilities

Med‑Surg nurses (RN) provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures and for those receiving medical treatment medication. They must be well‑versed in a broad range of health conditions.

• Complete assignments given by physicians
• Provide routine treatment and post‑surgical care
• Assess changes in patient’s health status and perform various treatments
• Administer medication
• Maintain meticulous documentation of medication and treatment administration to ensure continuity of care among nurses, physicians, and other treatment team members
