Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients
- Follow orders from Physicians regarding which area of the patient's body needs imaging
- Correctly position the patient and adjust the imaging equipment to appropriate position
- Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to yourself and to patient by taking appropriate protection precautions
- Calibrate imaging equipment
- Prepare results for Physician to review
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist
- ARRT (R) National Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- State‑specific licensing when required
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lean, or stoop for long periods
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
