American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT certification for a hospital Radiation Oncology department offering advanced treatment modalities.
Requirements
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiation Therapy Technologist program
- ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy required
- License required if applicable
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Radiation Oncology department
- Clinic operates 6:00a-6:00p with shift times varying within those hours
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly
- Elekta equipment experience preferred
- No weekends or on-call required
- Must be able to work UNC holidays if needed
- Administer radiation therapy according to physician instructions and patient treatment plans
- Enter data and adjust equipment controls to regulate dosage
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists with treatment plan preparation
- Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered
- Maintain patient and billing records including dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions
- Perform routine and complex treatments such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and brachytherapy
- Prepare equipment and treatment rooms for patients
- Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment appropriatelyPerform quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines
- Provide clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists
