Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a Long Term Care setting requiring 1+ years of PTA experience and active PTA license.

Details

• Work in a Long Term Care (LTC) facility within the Physical Therapy department
• Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday with flexible start times between 6AM and 10AM
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• 13 week assignment

Requirements

• Active PTA license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1+ years of PTA experience required
• LTC or SNF setting experience required
• New graduates considered if they completed Level II clinical experience (not just Level I observation)
• One reference required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under PT supervision
• Administer treatment interventions including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive/assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatment plans
• Document all regulatory and clinical information in the electronic documentation system
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings
• Provide input for discharge summaries and assist in obtaining necessary DME or supplies
• May supervise and support students under PT guidance
• Adhere to APTA and state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards
• No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested
