Registered Nurse - PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Seattle, WA Pediatric Acute Care

Contract 3x12-Hour Shifts Day/Night Rotating or Straight Nights 7:00-19:00 / 19:00-7:00

• Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Function independently within the PICU, managing complex and critically ill pediatric patients
• Float within scope to support facility needs, including acute care and NICU as needed; one orientation shift in the CICU will be completed to support float coverage
• Adhere to a scheduler-generated rotating 6-week schedule, including an expected 6 weekends over a 13-week assignment
• Document patient care and clinical information using EPIC
• Potential opportunity to precept other clinical staff as needed

• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience working independently
• Experience in a PICU of 20 beds or larger required
• CVPICU exposure or experience required (lesser degree of experience considered)
• Active Washington State RN License or Compact RN License (candidates without a WA license must be willing to apply upon offer; pending licenses accepted)
• PALS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Combined PICU and CVPICU clinical background
• Comfort working in a large, high-acuity pediatric setting within a teaching and Magnet-recognized facility

• Opportunity to work in a Magnet-recognized, Level I Trauma, teaching pediatric facility with a 407-bed capacity
• First-time travelers are welcome, and expected weekly hours are provided for the duration of the assignment
