Speech Language Pathologist Pediatrics (SLP PEDS) in Oakland, California. This position involves providing specialized speech and language therapy services for pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. The role requires working office hours during daytime shifts, focusing on assessment, therapy, and intervention for children with various communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Job Details:

Shift: Days, 8 hours daily, minimum of 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS and CCC-SLP; valid California state licensure required; minimum of 2 years of experience, including at least 1 year of hospital experience; pediatric outpatient and pediatric rehabilitation facility experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications: Childrens hospital experience, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, and experience with developmental delays, autism, and complex communication needs

Certifications: BLS, CCC-SLP

Skills: Acute care, alternative communication devices, assessment, augmentative communication, bedside swallow evaluation, clinical evaluation of language fundamentals, communication boards, compensatory strategies, concurrent therapy documentation and treatment, modified barium swallow studies, developmental delays, discharge planning, group therapy, hearing impairments, hyolaryngeal exercises, international dysphagia diet, interpreting modified barium swallow studies, language disorders, memory aids, neurodevelopmental disorders, modifying diet orders, oral motor, oral peripheral exam, Passy Muir valves, patient/family education, pediatric outpatient, pediatric rehabilitation, PICU, plan of care, Preschool Language Scale (PLS-4), re-assessments, Rossetti Infant-Toddler Language Scale, signs & symptoms of physical, sexual, psychological abuse, SLP evaluation coding, suctioning, TBI, thickening agents, trach/ventilator dependent, ventilator-assisted, Western Aphasia Battery (WAB).

Additional Information: This role involves working with pediatric patients ranging from adolescents to children, with a daily census of approximately 7 visits. Resources may be reassigned across departments or facilities within a 75+ mile radius during the assignment as needed. Orientation hours are scheduled on the Monday before the Tuesday start date, with remote or in-person training modules required before start.
