Travel PCU / Step-Down RN | Days | 13-Week Contract

Join a fast-paced Clinical Decision Unit where you'll play a key role in improving patient flow, reducing ED wait times, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Location: Asheville, NC

Specialty: PCU / Step-Down RN

Shift: Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3x12s)

Contract: 13 Weeks

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Step-Down, Med-Surg, and Telemetry experience
• Active RN License
• BLS, ACLS & NIHSS required
• Strong teamwork and critical thinking skills

Unit Details

• 40-bed Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio:
  • Step-Down: 1:5
  • Med-Surg: 1:6
  • Mixed Assignment: 1:5
• Free charge nurse goal with 1–2 CNAs
• EMR: Cerner
• Baxter IV pumps

Patient Population

• Direct admissions from the Emergency Department
• Medical-Surgical patients
• Telemetry patients
• Step-Down/PCU patients
• Wide variety of acute medical diagnoses requiring rapid assessment and treatment initiation

Schedule & Floating

• Every other weekend
• No call
• Holiday rotation as needed
• Floating within your skill set required
