Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown Float

Roanoke, VA Acute Care

Contract Nights 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)

• Float between PCU and Medical-Surgical units as staffing needs are re-evaluated; floating may occur up to every 4 hours within a shift - candidates must be comfortable working ALL PCU and MS units
• Provide stepdown-level care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac drips
• Manage central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• Administer IV therapy, perform phlebotomy, and manage blood product administration, PCA and heparin protocols, and IV insulin
• Respond to emergencies as part of Rapid Response and Code teams
• Document patient care using EPIC ; EPIC experience is required

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted only if candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Ability to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period
• Weekend availability required - expected schedule may include every other weekend or up to 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible; candidates residing 50-99.9 miles away may be considered for a single 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility

• Background in telemetry and stepdown-level care (PCU/DOU/IMC)
• Cardiovascular experience including pre- and post-cardiac catheterization settings
• Experience managing endocrine and metabolic conditions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
