Job Summary:
Nashville Tennessee is seeking a Certified First Surgical Assistant for a labor and delivery unit. This position involves supporting surgical procedures related to labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. The role requires clinical expertise, adaptability to hospital policies, and the ability to work nights as part of a dedicated team.

Job Details:

• Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift
• Schedule: Night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: 2 years of labor and delivery experience; certifications include AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or Certified Electronic Fetal Monitoring (CEFM), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified
• Float: Float rotation may be required for travelers
• Additional Information:
  • Responsibilities include providing care to laboring patients, immediate newborn care after delivery, circulating, and recovering patients following cesarean sections
  • Experience with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, dilation and curettage (D&C), cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor procedures is essential
  • The unit emphasizes shared decision-making and staff tenure is valued
  • Dress code requires scrubs in Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray (hospital does not supply uniforms)
  • The position is for a single opening in a specialized labor and delivery unit, with a focus on patient safety and team collaboration
