Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Compensation

• W2 Pay Rate: $19.50/hr
• Non-Taxable Weekly Stipend: $1,131.67
• Weekly Gross Pay (40 Hours): $1,911.67

Shift Details

• 4x10-Hour Day Shifts
• Combination of:
  • 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• No Call Required
• No Weekends

Position Overview

South Austin Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Outpatient Surgery Unit. This role supports both Pre-Op and Phase 2 Post-Op recovery areas, caring for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical and procedural cases.

Unit Information

• 16-bed Outpatient Surgery Unit
• Team-focused environment with experienced nursing staff
• Patient Ratios:
  • Pre-Op: 2 patients per RN
  • Phase 2 Recovery: Up to 3 patients per RN
• EMR: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Previous Pre-Op and Phase 2 Post-Op/PACU experience
• Strong IV insertion skills
• Active RN License
• BLS Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Meditech experience
• Ambulatory surgery or outpatient surgery experience

Common Patient Procedures

• Cardiac procedures
• Port placements
• Endoscopy cases
• General surgical procedures
• Same-day surgery recoveries and discharges

Dress Code

• Navy scrubs
• Hospital OR scrubs may also be provided
