• Assesses patients on admission within specified time frames, considering physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
• Reassesses each patient's health needs as warranted by the patient's condition and at least every shift, utilizing the nursing process after obtaining a systematic database.
• Establishes a plan of care based on data from all appropriate sources.
• Reviews and updates the plan of care for each assigned patient using data obtained from reassessments.
• Administers oral, topical, and parental medications utilizing the 7 rights.
• Assesses and documents the effectiveness or adverse effects of medications and treatments.
• Performs treatments and procedures following nursing practice standards, hospital policies, sterile techniques, standard precautions, and patient privacy guidelines.
• Documents responses to care, addressing pain management, discharge planning, education, and progress toward goals.
• Ensures documentation is legible and accurate, including date, time, signature, and title.
• Educates patients and families based on assessed needs, utilizing resources like “Krames” where appropriate.
• Interprets or analyzes diagnostic data and reports, intervening as necessary.
• Communicates changes in patient condition promptly to physicians and team members using SBAR for handoffs.
• Demonstrates consideration of patient rights, including confidentiality, safety, and participation in care planning.
• Evaluates and documents the effectiveness of care and patient teaching.
• Participates in multidisciplinary care planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge of restraint criteria and management per policy.
• Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals and hospital policies on patient identification.
• Understands disaster response procedures and team activation.
• Completes orientation to Life Safety Standards, including Code Blue, Pink, Red, and HazMat procedures.
• Follows infection control policies and blood transfusion protocols.
• Understands and accesses the Chain of Command appropriately.
• Practices hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
• Follows guidelines for Core Measures and vaccine control.

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 12 hours per week (subject to confirmation), with a tax-free stipend to be determined.
