Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Perform all unit responsibilities as per scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to ED practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Complete initial assessment upon admission and develop care plan.
• Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
• Modify plan of care based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by reporting and correcting hazards.
• Communicate directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues.
• Provide constructive feedback and engage in professional development with peers.
• Identify learning needs and pursue appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill departmental competency requirements.

Additional ED-Related Responsibilities

• Execute ED-specific procedures and theories.
• Assess patients and collaborate with providers, family, and patient to develop care plans.
• Implement and modify care plans with continuous assessment.
• Ensure patient and staff safety, adhering to safety standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and families.
• Provide feedback to peers for professional development.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience .
• Required skills: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), EPIC experience.
• Preferred unit-specific preferences: Trauma 2+ experience, EPIC experience, TNCC preferred.

Education

• Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

• Illinois state RN license in good standing.
• BLS (American Heart Association).
• ACLS (American Heart Association).
• PALS (American Heart Association).
