Job Requirements/n
/n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state
/n
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty, such as telemetry, stepdown, progressive care, or intermediate care
/n
- BLS certification (AHA only)
/n
- ACLS certification (AHA only)
/n
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
/n
- EPIC experience highly preferred
/n
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
/n
Responsibilities/n
/n
- Provide routine and complex nursing care for assigned patients in a cardiac stepdown and telemetry environment
/n
- Complete comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress using the nursing process
/n
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
/n
- Care for patients with a variety of conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, GI, and neurological needs
/n
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
/n
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record
/n
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and available resources
/n
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, delegate appropriately, and support safe, high-quality patient outcomes
/n
