Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night shift nursing job
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2250-$2370
Job Requirements
Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric Stepdown experience (permanent or travel) — pediatric nurse or cardiac step-down RN experience required.
Active, permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State license in hand at time of submission (Ohio RN or Compact RN).
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or American Red Cross (must be active).
EKG/ECG rhythm recognition and inotrope administration experience required.
One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the specialty required.
Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation.
COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered).
NIHHS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
Deliver specialized cardiac stepdown care to pediatric and adolescent patients (up to age 25) in a pediatric stepdown setting.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret ECG/EKG strips, and administer/titrate inotropes as needed.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, cardiology, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff — to provide comprehensive patient care.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the medical record.
Participate in unit orientation and complete required competency assessments, including ECG and medication safety evaluations.
Work every other holiday as required by the unit schedule.
