Qualifications

• Experience in stepdown , telemetry , cardiac, or acute care settings preferredn
• Ability to read and interpret telemetryn
• Comfortable caring for patients with chest tubesn
• Current ACLS certificationn
• Current BLS certificationn
• Current NIHSS certificationn
• Active RN license eligible for practice in Illinoisn
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skillsn
• Flexibility to float as needed based on patient care needsn

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult stepdown patients with complex medical and cardiac conditionsn
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, recognize changes in patient status, and escalate concerns appropriatelyn
• Care for patients with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, sepsis, diabetes, DKA, renal conditions, pneumonia, and neuro/surgical/cardiac concernsn
• Manage common interventions and devices such as BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and dialysis-related caren
• Administer medications and document care accurately in EPICn
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomesn
• Float to other units as assigned, including ICU for clinicians with extensive ICU experience or general med floors as neededn
• Maintain a professional, adaptable approach in a dynamic inpatient acute care environmentn
