Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Travel Nurse role based in Phoenix, AZ. The Travel Nurse will provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, monitoring patient status, and documenting care in accordance with facility policies and clinical standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, implementing care plans, educating patients and families, and responding to changes in patient condition. The nurse will adapt to the workflows and protocols of the assigned unit, participate in handoffs and team meetings, and adhere to infection control and safety procedures. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, meeting regulatory and facility requirements, and contributing to a positive, professional work environment throughout the duration of the assignment.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona or compact license eligible.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical nursing experience in acute care or a relevant specialty (e.g., pediatric intensive care, med-surg, ER, ICU, telemetry).
  • Strong clinical assessment, patient care, and documentation skills with attention to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new facilities, units, and electronic health record systems while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or other specialty certifications preferred, depending on unit needs.
  • Reliable time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work full-time shifts, including potential evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory patient care, respecting diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Experience with travel nursing or flexible assignments is a plus but not required.
