Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Innovation Design Unit)

Omaha, NE Acute Care

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) Nights 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00-07:30) 36 or 48 hours/week options available Onsite

• Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients within an inpatient Innovation Design Unit (IDU) that tests new models of care, innovative technology, and facility design concepts
• Practice within a primary nursing care model with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 (days) and 1:5-6 (nights)
• Administer and manage IV drips as required across all floors
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport, swoop/paramedics, and LPNs (where assigned)
• Float frequently within scope to meet facility staffing needs across various units and campuses, as traveler staff are first to float
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records (required)

• Active RN license (or pending Nebraska RN state license - if license is not in hand at time of submission, start date will be scheduled approximately six weeks out)
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience, obtained at a large, urban hospital
• Experience with IV drip management required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers not accepted; exceptions may be considered for candidates with 2 or more years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Experience working in a large academic medical center or Level I trauma environment
• Familiarity with progressive care or step-down level patients
• Comfort with emerging healthcare technology platforms such as virtual nursing, ambient monitoring, or interactive patient experience systems

• Work within a nationally recognized, top-rated acute care facility that serves some of the most complex patient populations in the region, supported by a large multidisciplinary team of specialists
• Gain unique exposure to cutting-edge healthcare innovations including virtual nursing, real-time location systems, and next-generation facility design concepts within a one-of-a-kind inpatient unit
