Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Charlottesville, VA Acute Care

Contract 13 Weeks Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00-07:00) Every other weekend required Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays Onsite

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:4 (days/weekends) and 1:5 (nights)
• Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including respiratory illnesses, renal illnesses, diabetes, sepsis, cellulitis, infections, heart failure, sickle cell, and cystic fibrosis
• Document patient care and clinical information accurately using Epic EMR
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility float policy
• Maintain BLS certification throughout the duration of the assignment

• Active Virginia RN license (pending license accepted; must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursys verification required at time of submission
• References required at time of submission
• Must adhere to facility float policy; travelers are expected to float within their scope of practice as needed
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (mileage rule applies to select units; confirm applicability at submission)

• BSN preferred
• Prior experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry settings
• Familiarity with managing complex diagnoses such as heart failure, sepsis, and sickle cell disease

• Opportunity to work in a dynamic acute care environment managing a diverse and clinically complex patient population
• Expected hours of 36 or 48 per week, offering scheduling flexibility within the contract framework
