Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiology program with specialization and training in MRI
• At least one year of experience as an MRI Technologist
• Valid Radiology/MRI license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Current ARRT or equivalent certification
• Current ARMRIT or equivalent certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Essential Work Functions

• Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications prior to procedure
• Educate patients on MRI procedure and answer questions
• Maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot MRI equipment
• Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
• Monitor image quality and adjust scanning parameters
• Document procedure details in compliance with hospital policies
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with infection control and hospital policies
• Follow hospital safety rules and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned within scope of an MRI Technologist

• Physical abilities: maintain stationary position, move equipment up to 100 lbs, push, pull, bend

• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use department equipment
• Mental requirements: handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with irregular schedules
