Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel MRI Technologist for a 13‑week night shift contract at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, with experience in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity imaging environment.

Details

  • Work in the MRI department of a large acute care hospital (874 licensed beds) designated as a Level I Trauma Center, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center
  • Teaching hospital environment serving a diverse adult and pediatric patient population from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams
  • Average of 40–45 patients per day
  • 12‑hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
  • No floating required
  • On‑call is required and rotated fairly among full‑time, part‑time, PRN, and travel staff based on team size
  • No rotation between weekday and weekend shifts — travelers remain on the assigned shift per contract
  • Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance
  • RTO requires manager approval
  • Uses Siemens 1.5T magnets and Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience, with most recent experience within the last year
  • ARRT(R) or NMTCB, and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT required
  • Active BLS required
  • State license required if applicable
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Ability to work confidently in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment with strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Perform MRI exams across a full spectrum of radiology diagnoses for adult and pediatric patients
  • Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new grads to long‑tenured staff
  • Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions; departmental orientation is approximately 5 days but flexible based on traveler needs
  • Black scrubs required
  • Free parking available on‑site across multiple parking decks
  • First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must be separated for at least 1 year before being considered
