Travel Med Surg/Tele RN – 13‑week assignment in Show Low, Arizona.

Responsibilities
- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures.
- Document comprehensive patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs.
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences.
- Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients, families, and external resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Qualifications
- At least one year of recent Med Surg/Tele RN experience.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
- Preferred: NIHSS certification and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- Other certifications and licenses may be required.
Essential Skills & Physical Requirements
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Proficiency in PC skills.
Physical: Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal: Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor: Ability to perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move during procedures and/or when using department equipment.
Mental: Able to cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, handle irregular schedules.
Sensory: Must possess visual acuity and effective communication ability.
