Job Description & Requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide care for 5–6 patients.
• Adjust and perform in fast paced environment.
• Keep up with many admissions and discharges.
• Monitor and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, and via IV.
• Educate patients and family on surgical processes and how to manage illness/injury.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, record and interpret electronic displays.
• Interpret telemetry readings, notifying the appropriate medical team of irregularities.
• Perform the duties required of a registered nurse at all times.
• Care for patients with pulmonary HTN, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and A-Fib.
• Use computer equipment to monitor cardiac and other vital information.
• Start IVs, draw blood, see the patient from start to finish.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS & ACLS certifications.
• 18+ months recent experience in an LTAC setting.
• Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, IV drips, EG tubes and ability to read telemetry strips.
• Other requirements may be determined by client facility.
