Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Overland Park, Kansas.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience as an ER RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications
  • Other relevant certifications or licenses

Summary/Key Responsibilities

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
  • Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to protocols
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs
  • Observe and document patient conditions, take and monitor vital signs
  • Respond to life‑saving situations per nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR
  • Initiate patient education plans as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, support staff)
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

  • Ability to read/write and communicate in English, read/comprehend instructions, follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
  • Work with various personnel, maintaining a positive attitude
  • Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, assist procedures and equipment
  • Handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, adjust to irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail
  • Visual acuity to effectively communicate
