Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

La Plata, MD Emergency Department

Contract 13 Weeks Nights 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00-07:30) 36/48-Hour Option Every Other Weekend Required Contract Start: November 16, 2026

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department with an average daily census of 130 and a 47-bed unit
• Manage a patient population spanning all age ranges, from infant to geriatric, across a wide variety of complex diagnoses
• Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering timely, high-quality emergency nursing care
• Float within the Emergency Department specialty as required; travelers are first to float
• Work holidays as scheduled and every other weekend as required
• Adhere to all compliance requirements, including completing onboarding labs within 72 hours of contract signing and submitting compliance documents no later than 5 days prior to start date

• Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact License at time of submission
• BLS certification - American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification - American Heart Association only
• PALS certification - American Heart Association only
• CPI certification required - The Calm Every Storm online version is the only acceptable online vendor
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience required; 2 years preferred (first-time travelers with strong ER skills and experience will be considered)
• Must have a permanent address 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible

• 2 or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Experience managing complex, high-acuity diagnoses across all patient age groups in a high-volume ED environment
• Comfort with floating within scope and adapting to varying scheduling needs

• Opportunity to work in a dynamic, high-volume Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population with a wide range of complex diagnoses
