Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Salem, MA Acute Care

Contract Nights Every Other Weekend Expected 36-48 hours/week Onsite

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department seeing approximately 230 visits per day, including a separate pediatric pod and an Acute Mental Health area
• Perform general ED nursing skills including patient assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
• Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio while delivering care across all patient populations
• Chart using EPIC - ASAP EMR system
• Float as needed to the ED Observation wing (16 beds) and the Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych Observation)
• Participate in occasional day-shift rotation (7a-7p or 11a-11p) when requested; rotation frequency is low and the primary night position does not rotate

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• AHA BLS certification (required)
• AHA ACLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification strongly preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a high-volume or Level II/III Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with EPIC - ASAP charting system

• Work in a dynamic, well-structured ED environment with a dedicated pediatric pod and mental health area, offering diverse clinical exposure
