Description

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with dual certification (RDCS/RCS and RVT) and 2+ years of experience in echocardiography and vascular studies for an outpatient medical pavilion setting.

Details

  • Outpatient medical pavilion setting in the Echo/Cardiac Sonography department
  • Daily caseload of 10–12 studies per technologist
  • Cases include TTE and a broad range of vascular studies: lower extremity venous and arterial (LEVs, LEAs, ABIs), carotid duplex, upper extremity arterial and venous (UEAs, UEVs), and groin duplex/pseudoaneurysm
  • Monday through Thursday, approximately 36 hours per week, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No on‑call or weekend requirements
  • No floating to other units or sister facilities
  • Epic EMR — experience preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in echocardiography and vascular sonography
  • Dual certification required: RDCS or RCS and RVT; CCI certification also accepted
  • Current BLS (AHA only)
  • Hands‑on experience with TTE and vascular studies including LEVs, LEAs, ABIs, carotids, UEAs, UEVs, and groin duplex (pseudoaneurysm)
  • SC license required if applicable
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First‑time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Non‑local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case‑by‑case basis
  • Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is subject to facility needs
  • Online modules are required and must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue
  • No parking cost
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
