Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography
• Credentialed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) in Adult Echocardiography (AE)
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• At least five years of experience credentialed by RDCS AE
• Good computer, verbal and written skills

Responsibilities

• Review medical histories and explain procedures to patients
• Perform echocardiograms, analyze results, and collaborate with healthcare professionals
• Assist during transesophageal echocardiograms, operate stress testing equipment, perform electrocardiograms
• Ensure equipment safety and cleanliness
