Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification
- Other certifications and licenses relevant to the position
Summary
The CT Tech operates CT scanners to produce cross‑sectional images for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include patient preparation, positioning, protocol adherence, image quality assurance, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and radiation safety compliance.
Essential Work Functions
- Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic images
- Prepare patients, explain the procedure, and position appropriately
- Set technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
- Provide high‑quality images to radiologists for interpretation
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostics
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Reading, writing, and communication proficiency in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency with PCs
Physical Abilities
- Remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend as required
Interpersonal Skills
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills
- Fine manipulation, push/pull, and mobility assistance during procedures and equipment use
Mental Requirements
- Handle frequent public contact and customer interactions while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Occasional work under close supervision or independently
- Manage irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail
