Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and Level 2 (or higher) trauma center background for a 13-week evening shift assignment at an acute care facility in Wisconsin.
- Acute care hospital setting with a CT department consisting of 5 scanners (2 rooms adjacent to the ER, 3 on the clinic side)
- Patient population ranges from infants through adults, with studies including the full range of CT scans, traumas, strokes, and more
- Average of 90–100 scans per day across acute and ambulatory settings
- May float to cover acute care, urgent care, ER, and occasional outpatient areas
- IV placement is required
- EMR is Cerner (transitioning to Epic); PACS is Siemens/SECTRA
- Equipment includes Siemens and Toshiba 300+ slice scanners
- Evening shift, 10-hour days from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on a 7/70 rotation (40 hours one week, 30 hours the next)
- Scheduling is set rotation — no self-scheduling or block scheduling; rotations may include 12-hour shifts, 10-hour shifts, 7-on/7-off, or weekend-only
- Weekend and holiday coverage required depending on rotation
- No on‑call or standby requirement
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT technologist experience
- Experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center required
- IV placement experience strongly preferred
- Active ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (CT) preferred
- Active BLS (AHA) certification required
- License required if applicable
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- 2 professional references required: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience
Additional Information
- Perform the full range of CT imaging studies across infant through adult populations, including trauma and stroke protocols
- Depending on shift, may be the only technologist in the department
- Radiologist coverage is in-house from 8:00 AM–10:00 PM; remote Nighthawk coverage from 10:00 PM–8:00 AM
- Orientation is up to 1 week and includes CBTs, computer access setup, an organizational checklist, and supervised floor time for the first few days
- Scrubs are not provided and there is no assigned color requirement
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which may affect the travel pay rate
