Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a variable‑shift contract at a small teaching hospital in Maine, supporting ED, inpatient, and outpatient CT imaging across adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations.

• Work in a single CT room at an 89‑bed acute care teaching hospital
• Serves ED, inpatient, and outpatient care areas
• Primarily adult and geriatric patients with some pediatric cases
• Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post‑surgical, and trauma
• Biopsy procedures performed (training provided, prior experience not required)
• Average of 25–30 scans per day
• Variable shifts covering a 24/7 department — specific shift (days or nights) will vary based on departmental need
• 36 hours per week with weekend rotation as needed
• No call required
• Holiday coverage done in rotation with other staff
• Uses Siemens X.Cite and GE 16‑slice PET CT (used as backup); experience with Siemens and GE preferred but not required
• EMR: Cerner; PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
• Fixed assignment to the CT department — no floating required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience required
• ARRT (®) and (CT) certifications required
• Current BLS required
• ME state license or compact license required — license required if applicable
• Proficiency with CTA studies and general CT studies
• IV start skills preferred
• Experience with Toshiba and/or GE equipment preferred
• Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME
• Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
• 2 professional references within the past year required, at least one from a supervisor, manager, or director (charge nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Full SSN required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required for clearance to start

Additional Information

• First‑time travelers will be considered for this position
• Orientation is 1 to 1.5 weeks depending on experience and comfort level
• Department is staffed with a Lead Tech, 2 techs on weekdays and evenings, and 1 tech on weekends
• Radiologist is on site and internal transport is available
• Candidates must be willing to work variable day and night shifts throughout the contract, as shift assignment is based on departmental need
• Scrubs may be any solid professional color; facility‑provided scrubs are available if needed
• Flu vaccination is required; medical exemptions only are accepted and subject to client review (minimum 2‑week review period required)
• RTO requires manager approval and must be submitted at time of consideration
• Free parking available on site
