Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 2+ years of experience and Siemens and Epic proficiency for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital setting.
Details
- Acute care teaching hospital setting in the CT Tech unit
- 3x12 hour evening shifts, Friday-Sunday, from approximately 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
- Shift start time may vary by up to 2 hours depending on department needs with one week advance notice
- No on-call requirements
- Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff
- May be required to float to a nearby Carilion Clinic location approximately half a mile away
- Siemens equipment experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist required
- Current BLS, ARRT(R), and ARRT(CT) certifications required
- Active state license required; license required if applicable
- Virginia state license required, with emergency authorization available while permanent licensure processes
- Prior travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with preparation and/or administration of contrast media
- Knowledge of radiation safety practices
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Experience with image display and post-processing, abdomen/pelvis imaging, head/neck imaging, spine/musculoskeletal imaging, and chest imaging preferred
- Experience with special procedures such as biopsies, CTA, and drainage preferred
- Skills in starting peripheral IVs and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
Additional Information
- Facility is a 700+ bed acute care teaching hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Previous employees must have a minimum one-year gap before returning as a traveler, with additional separation policy restrictions for those who have worked 365+ days on prior assignments
- All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
