Required Qualifications
- One year recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification
- Additional certifications and licenses as required
Job Summary
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images, prepares patients, ensures imaging protocols are followed, works closely with radiologists, maintains equipment and patient records, and adheres to radiation safety procedures.
Essential Work Functions
- Operate CT equipment for diagnostic imaging
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and position appropriately
- Set technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology
- Provide high‑quality images to radiologists
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other health professionals
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- Reading, writing, and speaking in English
- Ability to comprehend instructions and use a PC
- Physical ability: remain stationary, move equipment 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel
- Technical/motor skills: handle fine manipulation and operate equipment
- Mental requirements: cope with public interaction, meet deadlines under pressure, handle irregular schedules, maintain concentration on detail
