Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
- Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ARRT Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary
The CT Tech operates computerized tomography scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients’ bodies for diagnostic purposes, preparing patients, positioning them safely, ensuring proper imaging protocols, and working closely with radiologists to obtain high‑quality images.
Essential Work Functions
- Operate CT equipment to produce diagnostic images
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the imaging process, and position them appropriately
- Set appropriate technical parameters for accurate anatomy and pathology representation
- Provide high‑quality images to radiologists for interpretation
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot CT equipment
- Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services
- Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT tech practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities: able to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Interpersonal skills: work effectively with varied personnel and maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, and use department equipment
- Mental requirements: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, and maintain concentration to detail
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
