Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New Yorkn
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or cardiovascular critical care nursing experiencen
• Required experience caring for fresh post-operative cardiac surgery patientsn
• Cardiovascular critical care experience or certificationn
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certificationsn
• Recent experience using the EPIC electronic health record (EHR)n
• Previous travel nursing experiencen
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and critical-thinking skillsn

Cardiovascular ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular and cardiothoracic patientsn
• Care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery, including fresh post-operative heart patientsn
• Manage patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiogenic shock, abdominal aortic aneurysm, and other cardiovascular conditionsn
• Continuously assess patient status, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventionsn
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring therapeutic responsesn
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plansn
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPICn
• Promote safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care throughout each night shiftn
