Join a leading acute-care hospital in Las Vegas, NV, as a Travel RN in the Critical Care Float Pool. This position offers the opportunity to manage the nursing care of critically ill patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. The facility has been serving the community for nearly 60 years and is recognized for its commitment to quality healthcare.

Position Summary: As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you will assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs in accordance with established policies and protocols. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing and evaluating patient care needsn
• Carries out physician orders and administers prescribed medicationsn
• Changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signsn
• Providing respiratory and ventilator managementn
• Coordinating care among various disciplinesn
• Documenting patient conditions using computerized systemsn
• Instructing and educating patients and familiesn
• Coordinating discharge planning needsn
• Providing age and culturally appropriate caren
• Mentoring new staff membersn
• Following Standard Precautions using personal protective equipmentn

License/Certification/Registration:

• Current license in Nevada as a Registered Nurse (pending licenses accepted if far along in the process)n
• Current Certifications Required: BCLS/ACLS upon hire, NIHSS within 90 daysn
• Preferred: CCRNn
• Passing score on Critical Care Test/Rhythm interpretation examinationn

Education:

• BSN preferred; ASN accepted if enrolled in a BSN programn

Experience:

• 2 years of current acute care hospital critical care experiencen

Qualifications/Skills:

• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the patient population servedn
• Effective customer service and listening skillsn
• Clear and concise communication abilitiesn
• Critical thinking and decisive judgmentn
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environmentn
• Physical ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 poundsn

Special Notes:

• Float Pool will rotate through all areas of the ICU with various bed capacitiesn
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: ICU 2:1, CMU 3:1n
• Teamwork is essential for patient safety; a supportive and collaborative culture is emphasizedn
• Ideal candidates should thrive in high-stress situationsn
• This is a Union Facility; no new grads will be consideredn
