Travel COTA - Skilled Nursing Facility
American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a Long Term Care facility in Texas, requiring 2 years of LTC experience and a TX or compact license.
Position details:
- Long term care (LTC) rehabilitative setting
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of OTA experience in a long term care (LTC) setting required
- TX or compact OTA license required, if applicable
- Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience preferred
Additional information:
- Execute therapy plans designed by the supervising OT to improve patient motor skills and coordination
- Train patients on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating using adaptive techniques
- Instruct patients and families on the use of adaptive equipment like reachers and mobility aids
- Document patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns for the supervising OT
- Provide emotional support and caregiver training for home programs
- Prepare treatment areas and clean equipment as part of daily operational tasks
