Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a hybrid Cardiac Cath and IR lab, requiring 1+ years of cardiac cath experience and FL or compact licensure.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital with 223 staffed beds
• Hybrid lab performing both Cardiac Cath and IR cases
• No neuro or structural heart cases
• Average daily caseload of 25 per tech
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• On-call required on a rotating schedule of one week on-call followed by two weeks off
• Call team consists of 2 RNs and 2 Techs
• STEMI and IR call covered by the same call team
• No floating within hospital or to sister facilities required
• Cerner EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• FL license or compact license required at time of submittal, if applicable
• Cardiac Cath experience required, including balloon angioplasty, PCI, stents, thrombectomy, coil embolization, filter placement, pacemaker/defibrillator device placement, impella insertion, and left/right heart catheterization
• IR experience required, including stents, angioplasty, thoracentesis, peripheral and upper/lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, and venous access
• EKG experience required, including pacemakers, rhythm interpretation, sinus node rhythms, and holter monitoring
• EP experience required, including baseline measurements, insertion/programming of AICDs, and pacemaker insertion
• General scrub, monitor, and circulate skills required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• ARRT Advanced Certification, ARRT-R, CCI RCES, CCI RCIS, CET, and Fluoro Permit preferred
• Community Hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Additional Information

• Perform cardiac cath and IR procedures including scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating for a sterile field
• Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac stent placement, and PTCA
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Smoke-free facility
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate, with certain allied specialties exempt
• No RTO permitted in contract; RTO requests may be discussed during interview
• Guaranteed hours apply only after the first call-off per pay period
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as a travel candidate
• COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Must pass an EKG exam with up to 3 attempts allowed
