American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification for a diagnostic cardiac cath lab.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing heart caths and devices required
- BLS and ACLS required
- RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV certification required
- Pacemaker experience preferred
- Experience with EKG settings, obtaining vitals, and rhythm interpretation including sinus node rhythms required
- Epic experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- License required if applicable
Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab setting with 3 rooms and 5 beds
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Average daily census of 8-10 patients
- Procedures include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants (no EP studies or ablations)
- Uses GE Discovery, IABP, Impella, and CSI equipment
- Epic required for charting, Pyxis and SBAR used, Merge preferred
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- May float within department and facility, including to sister campus
- Call requirements of 12-15 days per month plus 2 weekends (Sat/Sun) with late stay as needed
- Responsibilities include accurate monitoring, EKG lead placement, room circulating, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
- Preferred skills include angioplasty, stent placement, hemodynamic monitoring, and central venous access
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required as follows: 1-2 major holidays in assignment period must be worked, if 3 major holidays occur travelers work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers not accepted for this position
- Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler
