Job Summary

This position ensures that clinical Audiological services are delivered in a timely, accurate, and reliable manner. The services are aimed at a diverse range of individuals, including inpatients, outpatients, home care patients, nursing home residents, hospital staff, and community groups as needed. The primary focus is on delivering services that directly benefit patients and students.

Job Responsibilities

• Apply accepted principles, methods, and procedures of measurement, prediction, non-medical diagnosis, and testing related to auditory and/or vestibular disorders for individual patients and their significant others.
• Administer, interpret, and supervise clinical Audiological services.
• Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations including air, bone, and speech testing.
• Perform middle ear analysis and site of lesion testing.
• Monitor patients undergoing ototoxic medication.
• Conduct hearing screenings for NICU patients.
• Administer CAP testing and electro-physiological testing.
• Perform industrial hearing screenings.
• Evaluate and fit hearing aids, including selection and follow-up services.
• Provide counseling for individuals or groups with hearing impairments.
• Execute minor repairs and modifications on hearing instruments.
• Assist in the development of Audiological programs.
• Collect data required for Continuous Quality Assurance programs.
• Provide services referred by physicians or mandated by New York State regulations.
• Maintain contracts as a community provider.
• Gather necessary data for statistical review and prepare reports for distribution to referring physicians detailing diagnostic findings and recommendations for patient rehabilitation.
• Ensure compliance with OSHM, JCAHO, and standards set by Certifying Organizations through proper medical record maintenance.
• Adhere to established Service Delivery Standards.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Master's Degree in Audiology
• Required Certifications & Licensure: New York State license
• Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting.

Schedule Details

This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Preferred experience includes working with infants, pediatric, and geriatric populations. Candidates must possess their New York State license prior to the start date. The department offers a small and comfortable working environment, conveniently located in a medical office building across from a major hospital campus. Audiology services are situated near the ENT practice to facilitate collaboration with medical staff and providers.
