Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon to join an established 7-member Trauma Surgery section at Marshfield Medical Center (MMC) in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves working within an acute care trauma service model, covering acute care surgery, critical care, and trauma. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 in-house attending coverage and a competitive compensation package.

- Join an established 7-member Trauma Surgery section at Marshfield Medical Center (MMC)
- Work within an acute care trauma service model covering acute care surgery, critical care, and trauma
- MMC is a Level II Trauma Center with trauma attending in house 24/7
- During the day, one trauma surgeon/surgical intensivist or critical care intensivist staffs the SICU, one surgeon staffs the Acute Care Surgical Service, and one surgeon is dedicated to trauma patients on the floor and to trauma activations
- At night, one trauma surgeon covers SICU, Acute Care Surgical Service, and Trauma
- ICU and trauma services are each supported with allied health providers
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care and perform surgical procedures for adolescents and adults for conditions of the alimentary tract, abdomen and its contents, breast, skin, soft tissue, head and neck, endocrine system, and minor extremity surgery
- Provide for the on-call emergent/urgent needs of the pediatric and pre-adolescent surgical patient within the core privilege definition
- Supervise surgical residents as part of the acute care surgical service
- Participate in trauma research
Compensation
- Annual compensation of $605,000 if you complete required number of shifts for 1.0 FTE
- $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 4 years (subject to contractual agreement)

Shift & Schedule
- 4-5-night shifts per month
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- BC/BE fellowship-trained Trauma Surgeon
- Completed a Surgical Critical Care or Acute Care Fellowship
- Board certified/board eligible for surgical critical care through the American Board of Surgery
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated surgical residency program or a clinical fellowship of at least five years' duration accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
