Trauma Surgeon

A large, high-volume Level 2 trauma center in New York City is seeking a locum tenens Trauma Surgery physician for ongoing coverage starting ASAP. The role involves providing in-house night call coverage across inpatient, OR, and ER settings, managing trauma and emergency general surgery cases. Clinicians will benefit from resident support and an established clinical environment while experiencing all that New York City has to offer.

• Provides comprehensive trauma and emergency general surgery services across inpatient, OR, and ER settings

Responsibilities

• Provide in-house night call coverage across inpatient, OR, and ER settings
• Manage approximately 1-2 trauma cases per night
• Perform trauma surgery and emergency general surgery case management
• Maintain on-site availability throughout each assigned coverage period to respond to trauma activations and surgical cases
• Collaborate with surgical trainees during coverage periods
