Sanford Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Trauma Neurosurgeon to join its team in Fargo, ND. This role offers the opportunity to work in a rapidly growing, high-volume practice within a Level I Trauma Center, collaborating with a diverse team of specialists. The position involves covering adult trauma, ER spine and tumor cases, and inpatient hospital consults, with access to a dedicated neuro-trauma operating room.
Practice Info
- Join a practice of 10 neurosurgeons and 15 advanced practice providers.
- Sanford Medical Center in Fargo is a regional referral center with a large catchment area.
- Level I Trauma Center.
- Trauma neurosurgeons cover adult trauma, ER spine and tumor and inpatient hospital consults.
- Access to a neuro-trauma operating room.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues in neuroradiology, neuro-intensivists, general trauma surgeons, pain medicine, therapy, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide nonoperative, and pre-, intra-, and postoperative care to patients of all ages except neonatal presenting with injuries or disorders of the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems, including their supporting structures and vascular supply.

Requirements
- BE/BC Trauma Neurosurgeon.
- Trauma Neurosurgery fellowship training or equivalent experience is preferred.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Neurological Surgery residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
- Ability to demonstrate at least 50 neurosurgical procedures in the last 12 months.
