Candidates should have experience working on transportation projects in Illinois or Massachusetts, ideally for IDOT or MassDOT. AutoCAD Civil3D and Microstation knowledge are ideal.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrated experience and success in managing, executing, and delivering complex projects as well as developing client relationships within transportation servicesClient development, maintenance, and management; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling; and the establishment of critical project objectives and performancesTime management to manage multiple transportation projects at one timeLeading a team of engineers and draftersInteracting and communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other agenciesCoordinating with subconsultantsDirecting and training staff on project engineering (roadway geometrics, corridor models, staging)Preparing project design and environmental reportsAssisting with the preparation of proposals and contractsManaging project financialsAbility to assess and manage risksParticipating in quality control/quality assuranceRequirementsBachelor's degree in civil engineeringPE license required (Illinois or Massachusetts), or ability to obtain in 6 months10+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project managementFamiliarity with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) OR Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) design engineering practices, standards, and documentationExperience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, BluebeamAbility to collaborate with the design team, clients, and agenciesStrong leadership skillsGood decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsU.S.
