Job TitleTransportation AnalystJob DescriptionPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide transportation analysis with focus on business unit / supply chain requirementsProvide recommendations on freight cost savings and streamlining opportunitiesProvide quarterly reports to business units that include cost savings opportunities and resultsDevelop and maintain billing systems to ensure accuracy of supplier payments / account codingResolve shipping issues and make recommendations for process improvementsCreating and revising standard operating procedures for logistics processesTraining of freight forwarders / carriersCreating and tracking transportation process documentsConduct carrier RFP for domestic and international transportationExecute and enable carriers for domestic and international transportationMaintaining the list of approved carriers and the routing guide; training and enforcing the use of the routing guideConduct quarterly business reviews with the business units and carriersPreparation of shipping forecastsReview and negotiate carrier contracts, including negotiating freight ratesWorking with business units to maximize transportation savings potential and providing quarterly status reportsGuiding and advising departments to optimize logistics performanceTaking corrective action with carriers in the event of service failuresManage one-time rate quotes and one-time shipments to support business unitsMonitor and develop transportation key performance indicators (KPIs)Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in transportation, logistics and/or supply chain7+ years of work experience managing transportation for a company the size of CoherentExperience in carrier or other related third party managementExperience with Oracle Transportation Management tool or other Transportation Management system.Experience in contractual and negotiation managementSkillsProject management skills and experienceProficiency in MS Office skills (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.)Knowledge of creating process flow diagrams (Microsoft Visio)Knowledge of databases and Power BI is an advantageSafety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
