Transportation Mechanic

Daingerfield-Lone Star ISD is seeking a Transportation Mechanic. The position requires:

Education/Certification:

• Valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (Must have CDL or be able to obtain CDL)
• At Least a High School Diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Possess mechanical aptitude to effectively inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in vehicles and other power equipment
• Possess ability to perform minor body repairs

Experience:

Three years mechanic experience preferred

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

• Continual walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting and carrying; climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Ability to operate power and hand tools
• Work outside and inside
• Exposed to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors
• Exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards
• Work around moving objects and vehicles

Mental Demands:

Ability to read, communicate verbally, understand verbal and written directions, and work with minimal supervision
