Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee daily transportation operations, manage company drivers and external carriers, and coordinate inbound and outbound freight. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, transportation management experience, and the ability to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation and logistics operations.
• Manage and supervise 15–20 in-house drivers and coordinate with 20+ external drivers/carriers.
• Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound freight shipments.
• Manage dispatching, routing, and delivery schedules.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while minimizing transportation costs.
• Monitor driver performance, productivity, and safety compliance.
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure smooth transportation activities.
• Resolve transportation delays, scheduling conflicts, and delivery issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce transportation expenses.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transportation, fleet, or logistics management.
• Experience managing internal drivers and external carriers.
• Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound freight operations.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
• Experience with dispatching, route planning, and scheduling.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
