Transplant Institute Medical Director

AdventHealth Transplant Institute (AHTI) is seeking a Medical Director to lead its thriving transplant program within the AdventHealth healthcare system. This role involves ensuring exceptional patient care, fostering a collaborative culture, and assisting with program growth across various organs. The Medical Director will also provide support and leadership for both physician and administrative leaders within the program, serving as the physician lead and representative for the Transplant Institute within the AH Orlando campus, the Institutes, and the AH Medical Group.

• The AdventHealth Transplant Institute is located just outside downtown Orlando, close to Winter Park.
• In September 2020, AdventHealth Orlando opened a state-of-the-art 32-bed critical care unit dedicated to the cardiothoracic transplant service.
• AdventHealth has a hospital-based organ procurement organization (Our Legacy).
• AHTI's Multi-Organ Abdominal Transplant team performs 70 adult and pediatric Liver Transplants, 160 adult and pediatric Kidney Transplants, and 10 Pancreas Transplants yearly.
• The team includes surgeons, nephrologists, hepatologists, pathologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists.
• The office site is steps away from the hospital in an adjacent medical office building.

Responsibilities

• Lead the thriving transplant program within the AdventHealth healthcare system.
• Ensure exceptional patient care delivery.
• Create a culture of collaboration and collegiality.
• Assist with growth through various organs serviced through the AHTI Program.
• Provide support and leadership for both physician and administrative leaders within the Program.
• Serve as the physician lead and representative for the Transplant Institute within the AH Orlando campus, the Institutes, and the AH Medical Group, in partnership with the Vice President, AHTI.
