Onsite Full Time General
A leading electric utility company is seeking a Supervisor of Transmission Planning Engineering to lead long-range grid strategy and power system analysis in one of the country's fastest-growing energy markets. This on-site leadership role is ideal for an experienced engineer ready to step into team management, with a strong foundation in transmission planning, power system modeling, and regulatory compliance. If you excel at translating complex studies into actionable plans and thrive in a collaborative, high-impact environment, this role offers both technical depth and a clear path for long-term leadership growth.
What you'll do
* Lead and develop a team of engineers on transmission planning studies, case model maintenance, and compliance activities — ensuring work is technically sound, on schedule, and within budget
* Drive long-range strategic planning or NERC/FERC compliance analysis (EMT, interconnection, transmission service) depending on your assigned focus area
* Communicate study assumptions, risks, and results clearly to leadership, regulators, and internal stakeholders
* Hire, mentor, and grow a multi-discipline engineering team while coordinating across operations, regulatory, and program management
What we're looking for
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related ABET-accredited discipline (Mechanical, Computer Science, Physics, Civil, and others considered)
* 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally in utility transmission planning, power system analysis, or a closely related field
* Strong understanding of power systems, reliability planning, and regulatory frameworks (NERC/FERC familiarity a plus)
* Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a technical team
