Overview
We are searching for a Transmission Line Subject Matter Expert (TLSME) on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment (W-2). This position is a remote technical role covering all aspects of transmission line design and construction. The person will be actively engaged in team meetings and projects where communication and a team-oriented mindset are critical. Less experienced team members look to the TLSME team for technical guidance and leadership. The person must be able to assert accurate responses within project timeframes. The TLSME team consists of multiple disciplines; the applicant must be comfortable engaging other TLSME expertise as needed to provide the best responses to Project Engineers. Candidate must have one area of expertise and be capable and enthusiastic to learn areas outside their expertise. Location: Remote.
We are looking for candidates who can work independently in a remote setting, participate in project discussions, and contribute to the Project Engineers with strong technical leadership.
This role is with Westinghouse Electric Company. Please note: No Third-Party or C2C Firms. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Hours: TLSME working hours are typically 9-5 EST, Monday through Friday, regardless of the applicant’s time zone.
Affirmative: This is a direct contract position and eligible for W-2 treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide A+ technical support to the Project Engineering teams while maintaining the schedule and budget of assigned projects.
- Use in-depth transmission line knowledge, teamwork, and engineering judgment to respond to project RFIs.
- Lead and mentor Project Engineers to better understand technical requirements.
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvement.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering with deep knowledge of at least one transmission discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years technically supporting a variety of transmission line projects at 230 kV or above.
- Excellent communication skills; able to convey complex ideas both in writing and verbally.
- Aggressive and team-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to learn new things and work outside of your comfort zone.
- Assertive leadership qualities demonstrated through project work.
- Successful experience working with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to make informed independent decisions which are not regularly subject to technical review.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineer certification.
- Field experience.
