Job Description
nOur client is looking for a remote Senior Transmission Line Engineer to sit in Ottawa Canada or Puerto Rico. This individual will be responsible for:
nLead and oversee complex transmission line designs from conceptual engineering through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
nProvide senior-level technical expertise and direction to design staff, ensuring technical accuracy, best practices, and industry-leading design solutions.
nPerform key engineering studies such as conductor economic evaluations, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance determinations per NESC and applicable standards.
nInterpret and apply regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC, and regional standards, and ensure compliance across project deliverables.
nPrepare and review technical documentation such as specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
nCollaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, construction support, and change order management.
nPerform and review QA/QC for engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration activities, resolving design-related field issues.
nConduct and lead field inspections, measurements, calculations, and installation reviews for both public and private clients.
nDevelop and present technical reports, support marketing and business development efforts, and build strong relationships with clients and contractors.
nProvide mentorship, leadership, and guidance to less experienced engineers, ensuring effective cross-discipline communication and adherence to company safety, quality, and performance standards.
nSalary ranges from $140-190,000 based on experience

nSkills and Requirements
nBachelors degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Power Engineering
n5+ years of transmission line engineering experience (design, analysis, modeling or similiar)
n5+ years of experience working with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm
n5+ years of experience working in PLS-CADD
